Foam Photography Museum
/Famous photographers and emerging talent
With free guided tours, regularly changing exhibitions, and its own identity, Foam has more than earned the title of the largest photography museum in the Netherlands.
At Foam, you will find changing exhibitions. From fashion to documentary and historical to modern. Not only famous photographers but also young emerging talent will be given a stage. All facets of current photography are shown, which makes it attractive to a vast audience. With 200,000 visitors a year, Foam is the most visited photography museum in the Netherlands. It consists of three different buildings. Fortunately, you don't have to walk outside all the time, because they are connected by sky bridges, stairs, and covered courtyards. That makes it very surprising here: the space behind every corner is completely different.
The space behind every corner is completely different.
Every Thursday at 6.30 pm there is a free tour for which you can sign up. In a group of no more than fifteen people, you can view the exhibition of that moment in one hour. Together with the museum teacher, you will discover the story of the photographer and the photos. And that makes your visit here even more interesting.
You won't get bored in the shop with photo books either.
All the way down, you will find the cafe to refuel. Here you can have breakfast, lunch, cake, and drinks. On Thursday evenings, they are especially open longer for dinner. At the entrance - also the exit - is the shop where the photography books are waiting for you. If you don't get out of the way, you can buy them. I myself also have one on the table, open at the best photo. With that, you immediately have a piece of art at home.
Foam is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursdays until 9 p.m. On Foam website, you can see the current exhibitions, events, and workshops.
