Dordrecht - Villa Augustus

The hotspot of Dordrecht - Villa Augustus

Your visit to Dordrecht is not complete without stopping by Villa Augustus. This unique hotel in an old water tower and the restaurant grows its own vegetable garden, bakery, and shop are an absolute must!

The irresistible smell from the bakery meets you as soon as you get closer to the restaurant. Between the hotel and the restaurant, there is an incredible garden, where you can see all the vegetables needed in the kitchen. If you decide to eat, I heard that they have the best homemade sweets from the bakery and incredibly delicious ice cream. You can just take a newspaper while enjoying a cup of coffee and a piece of cake and feel the smell of all those veggies.

In the beautifully decorated restaurant, you can sit down at the reading table, find a nice spot at the comfortable living room seats or dine extensively. Several dishes on the menu are regularly adapted to the season so that the vegetables and fruit from the vegetable garden can be used optimally. The delicious, homemade seasonal lemonade can also be ordered per pitcher, with or without bubbles, and tastes nice and fresh with the pizza from the wood oven.

In the summer, it is lovely to relax on the terrace, which borders directly on the enormous vegetable garden and overlooks the beautiful water tower in which the hotel is located. After your lunch, step into the garden and stroll through all the flowers and plants at your leisure. Behind the hotel is a beautiful pond, and you immediately have a comprehensive view of the Wantij, the water that divides the island of Dordrecht in two. So unique, you can imagine yourself here as Alice in Wonderland.

I would love to stay in the hotel once, but let’s see, hopefully soon! Until then, I just let you have a look at how everything looks from outside.
