Basics Do's & Don'ts of Instagram

Do's & Don'ts of Instagram

With a sigh, you look at your phone ... 20 likes on your photo, half of which come from abroad. * Ping * Rosalina wants to send you a chat message is on your screen. Your heart is jumping and you hope someone will buy your product. You open the message: Hi, thanks for following me. You have great content. If you want to know more…. You don't even read any further and you put your phone away in frustration.

DOes on Instagram

- Create unique content that no one else creates. So don't use stock photos because they see people passing by a hundred times a month. Your personal brand is unique and you are unique. So why not create unique content? You can easily do it yourself by taking pictures with your phone. For example, easily make flatlay photos yourself.

- Post when your followers are online. This is in the morning and evening. Just think logically when your followers are online. Use the Insights Instagram provides and pick the right time for them, your followers, not for you!

- Be online when you post something. Instagram does not like it if you are not much on Instagram yourself. Don't expect much interaction in return. The more energy you put in, the more you get back.

- Always respond to your followers! And preferably within an hour so that the algorithm takes this up and your post will do better. If you do not reply, this follower will not leave a comment next time!

- Use blank lines in your messages. You do this by writing the text in your notes and do not put a space after each sentence, but immediately enter.

DON'Ts on Instagram

- Don't just send in your messages. Does your message have a purpose and punch line? What do people know after reading your post? How delicious your Sunday afternoon was? Or have you really shared something? Value = key!

- Don't use hashtags of phrases like #ihavecoffee. These hashtags have no volume and it is unprofessional. Use hashtags that your target audience also uses.

- Do not take photos with your phone with flash, these photos are never beautiful! Use daylight to take your photos.
