To Eat Or To Skip Breakfast

To Eat Or To Skip Breakfast

I remember how many times my mother repeated this saying to me as a teenager: "You eat breakfast alone, you share lunch with friends, and you give dinner to your enemies." And it's good that she kept telling me because that's how I learned a very healthy habit - I don't skip breakfast. Everything I read later confirmed to me that my mother was right. Breakfast is an essential meal - it can either make or break your day, and it can make you lose four extra pounds a year (as some studies say). But what we eat for breakfast is also essential. We can choose, in a hurry or lack of information, less healthy options. Here are just a few of the most common.

  1. After the night's sleep, in the morning, we need to "recharge our batteries." Or how can we do this better than giving the body the nutrients needed? But it can happen, especially if we are on the run (or we are on a diet) to "nibble" just a little at breakfast. But, this fact will make us "gnaw" all kinds of unhealthy things between meals, and the result will be that we will gain a few extra pounds each year.

  2. We have all heard that cereals are a good option for breakfast. But not those that contain a lot of sugar, fats and all kinds of additives. Let's always check what these cereals have so that we don't do more harm than good.

  3. Out of the desire to completely eliminate fats from the diet, we often put products with 0% fat in the shopping cart. However, they are less nutritious than those with certain fat content and can contain all kinds of additives to make up for the lack of taste.

  4. If we opt for a low-protein breakfast, the first "dissatisfied" will be our muscles. And we need them a lot whether we do physical work or stay at the office. So let's offer ourselves a protein breakfast so necessary to support our muscles, especially after the night's rest period.

  5. I also heard that natural juices are very healthy. However, it would be good to prepare these juices ourselves, and if we added some fresh vegetables in addition to fruits, it would be even better. Let's avoid buying commercial juices that say "natural" so that we don't choose a healthy portion of sugar, even when we have decided to eat healthily.
