Happy Birthday, Dear Blog!

My blog turns one today, yay! Thank you so much for your loyalty, support and your lovely comments! :)

When I started this blog, I did not think anything of it. There were no blogger events, goodies, travels, etc; I just blogged for fun. And I'm so glad this passion is getting bigger day by day! Too bad that many people start and hope for the big bucks, or "fame" but I see this as a misunderstanding of what a blog should be in the first place. For me, blogging represents sharing my thoughts and feelings, telling a story about anything that happens in our quotidian existence! With this in mind, I want to thank you, my dear readers, for one year of ups and downs and becoming part of my life! It's so nice that I can share my personal highlights with you! I'm very excited to see how this journey continues!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you, my esteemed readers, for your loyalty, the kind, and critical comments and your support!

Blogging is still a lot of fun for me, it has become my favorite hobby and part of my life. It's my little baby and I cannot imagine that I'll ever stop. However, I wonder where blogging will lead us going forward. Are we still going to blog in 40 years?

Maybe having a child in a few years, one can become the blogger-mom, where you even immortalized a whole life story with its ups and downs on the Internet forever (as a biography without worrying if the editor will like it or not)? Will there still be blogs or is the "hype" already on the way down? Will a blog become commercial and later professional at which moment the bubble will burst? Or is it already bursting? Many of my friends agree with that ...

Perhaps every child will soon have a blog as an online diary, and later the blog URL will be found on every people's business card. Facebook already began with the chronicle to document our lives. We, humans, are becoming more and more transparent.

A blog takes a lot of time and work; You need courage, patience, stamina and a thick coat, but if you love the "work" then you will do it with a lot of pleasure and dedication, no matter what others say and no matter how others want to pull you down. That's how I feel about my blog and I think it's great that readers are interested in what I publish and I hope they will stick around for a longer period, so they can see how my blog evolves over time. At this point again a big thank you to you all! :)
