5 Tips For Low Budget Trips That You Will Remember Forever

The vacation period is approaching fast, and you want to explore as many interesting places as possible without spending a fortune in that period? We all look forward to the holidays with joy, but no one wants to come back with empty pockets without a budget for the next period.

Below are some ideas that will help you optimize your vacation budget so that it doesn't put pressure on the family budget.

Find early birds offers for a low budget vacation

You can find much better prices for both air tickets and accommodation. Follow the suggestions of operators and hotels - or agencies, if you prefer the option of an organized vacation. When you buy early, you get great deals.

You can also look for other types of offers that will optimize your budget. A free night for three nights of accommodation, breakfast included, or other services that you still want to take advantage of can significantly reduce the cost of your vacation.

Always, e prepared during Black Friday sales to book some trips for the year that follows. Similar deals you will find in May and June, as last-minute deals.

Establish a budget and save the money

In just a few minutes, you can make a quick calculation of your entire vacation budget. Collect the price of accommodation and transportation and estimate how much you will spend on a day off.

For this estimate, you can count on expenses from other holidays. You can also ask friends who were in the same destination for the costs or look for information on forums, travel blogs, or Facebook groups on the same topic. To optimize a budget, you must first know its approximate value.

Once you know the amount you need, you can identify where the money will come from. Will you be able to save part of it monthly so that you can have it all when you go on vacation? Can you supplement your income for a period so that your family budget is not affected? No matter which solution is identified, you will do much better when you have a plan. What I personally do, is to save monthly a fixed amount of money, no matter what are my spendings, and if at the end of the month, I have some extras, I will just use it for the exact same purpose – holidays!

Identify the best options for spending time

Even if you spend your holidays in your country, you may want to explore something new, an area that you haven’t seen before. If your vacation is in one or more cities, then you certainly have a list of places you want to see.

For each of them, there are always discounts, and if you are lucky, they can be even free. It is essential, however, to take an early interest in them. At Louvre, for example, admission is free on the first Sunday of the month, but also in July  - but you have to wait patiently in line, in the crowd.

Optimizes the budget for local food and transportation for a low budget vacation

This is where most of the vacation money goes, but with a plan, you can significantly reduce the amount spent.

You have many options available: you can reduce the number of meals taken in the restaurant in favor of salads from the supermarket or food from the street kiosks. You can also research in advance, which are the restaurants with low prices and, possibly, with the menu of the day, always cheaper than the à la carte. In general, the areas frequented by tourists are more expensive, but you may be interested in finding out where the locals eat.

Depending on your personal preferences, you can make significant savings by asking yourself in advance what are the most advantageous options.

If we talk about transport, it can come with a card that offers you discounts on tourist attractions. Also, you are interested in the offers for several days; they exist in most cities. There may also be cheaper tickets for more people or different discounts under other conditions.

Find budget alternatives to the expensive options

Do you really need to rent a car? For example, renting a car comes with expensive insurance, also don’t’ forget you need to pay for the parking. What if instead of that you take a bus or a train? In the city, do you really need public transportation, or you can quickly get a cheap or even free bike?

Therefore:
Do your due diligent early, ask about the place (at the reception of the hotel where you stay, for example), and you will be able to optimize your holiday budget without much effort.
