We are slowly starting to be able to travel again. Things we took for granted until the beginning of 2020 now are slowly getting back to us. Now the thing is - do you always loved traveling but hated packing? I've got some tips for you so you can pack up quickly and take only what you really need.

Do you love traveling but hate packing? I've got some tips for you so you can pack up quickly and take only what you really need.

  • Make a list

One more T-shirt, one more dress and an extra pair of shoes just in case - if you pack without any plan, it is more than likely that you will fill the suitcase with many things that you will never use, or clothes that they won't suit you.

Preparing a list of items to take in advance makes packaging much more straightforward. Especially if you start writing it a few days earlier, adding everything you need regularly. List everything that comes to your mind. An even higher level of initiation is to create a list of clothing sets for each day of travel. Most clothes can be used more than once while traveling as long as I pack matching clothing items into the suitcase.

When you have prepared a list of all the things, you want to take with you, remove them from the wardrobe and spread them out in one place. That's a lot of it. Before you stuff them in a suitcase, please retake a look at them and think, because maybe not everything is necessary. This is the right time to check your list and delete something from it.

  • Fill every centimeter of free space.

Place rolled clothing tightly one next to the other. In small, unfilled spaces between them, you can put individual pieces of underwear or a thin scarf. Socks or other smaller items should be placed in the shoes. In turn, the flip flops (each separately) can be pressed between the wall of the suitcase and already packed clothes. If you take a glasses case with you (and you have glasses on while you are caring for it), you can store, e.g., USB cables and a phone charger in an empty case.

Sometimes, it is worth separating what you usually hold together and pack them in the suitcase's extreme places. For example, shoes - instead of laying next to each other, "overlapped" - you can pair and arrange them in hollows along the rails, stiffening the bottom of the suitcase.

  •  Be a minimalist

Even if you are not traveling with carry-on baggage, try to stick to its current limit on carrying liquids. There is no need to take a full-size pack of shampoo or bath lotion on a few days' trips. 100 ml bottles should be enough. It is also worth considering the complete resignation from some cosmetics. You will find small bottles of shampoo, soap, and even toothpaste or a brush in the bathroom in most hotels and guesthouses. Some things are so cheap that shopping on the spot can also be a more convenient solution. However, what is always worth taking with you are filtering cosmetics. In many countries, especially in the most popular resorts, they are quite expensive.

  • Use what you have on hand.

You don't need super-professional equipment and expensive gadgets to make packing easier. All you need are small items that you have at home or in the office. With an office clip, which you usually fasten documents, you can secure the razor blade or clip the always tangled cables and headphones. The bathing cap can be packed separately, e.g., shoes, so that the soles will not make your clothes dirty. Cosmetics bottles may be leaking. If you want to avoid soiling the suitcase's contents, e.g., with shampoo, put a piece of foil or plastic bag under the cap, wrapping the thread with it. Take some string bags with you, which can be useful for packing dirty things or providing additional liquids protection.

  • My packing experience

I always pack 1 max 2 hours before I need to go to the airport, even though I think about it for days, weeks, even months if it’s something I planned way.
