I Am Mad With Facebook And Instagram
I am mad with Facebook and Instagram
Instagram, Facebook. Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram Stories, IGTV, YouTube, Whatsapp, and the latest Tiktok. am I missing anything? Nowadays, you can no longer escape the online world, or if you manage to do it, it is very complicated. We receive so much information every day from the online community that sometimes it overwhelming and difficult to handle it.
Facebook and Instagram are becoming more commercial
Everything becomes more commercial, and I can sometimes get outraged and especially tired of the Facebook and Instagram algorithm. The what? Yes, lately all social media platforms have APIs and algorithms that run 24 hours a day. Since Facebook and Instagram started using advertisements, the posts on your feed are no longer displayed on a timeline, but rather based on what the algorithm thinks you are interested in. This means that if I post a status on Facebook, it will not automatically be shown to my nearly 5000 Facebook friends (and the same goes for Instagram). Now I have put it to the test to see what I can do myself (without paying thousands of euros in advertisements, because I do not consider it’s the right way to succeed).
How do you avoid the Facebook algorithm?
How did I test it? I posted a message and asked if some people would like it right away. And this worked! If a post is often liked, shared, or commented on within a few minutes, Facebook and Instagram will see it as valuable and forward to the rest of the followers. Somewhat logical, but also very annoying somehow, because this means that if my followers just want to watch and are not like (which is sometimes the case), my Facebook and Instagram posts will no longer be viewed. And hey, that is, of course not the intention!
My research also showed that it is best to post something on social media between 7.30 and 9 am or after 5 pm but not later than 8 pm (because then most followers are online). All friendly and nice, but to be very honest, I feel a lot of pressure with this algorithm. The pressure for POSTING FOR POSTING, because if I post at a different time, it will result in fewer likes. But what does a like actually say? A like is precious to me (a kind of appreciation). Still, I know enough people who see my posts, this is called reach or impressions, but never like it because they basically never like anything.
How to continue with Facebook and Instagram (Need your help)
But now the question is, should we always post something? I think it is much more critical to let quality go before quantity and to post something that I experience (so don't stage it because it yields more likes, which happens a lot these days).
So this is the thing, I want to post because I am happy with my experience or with the content I created, and, this will ultimately mean better content and is much more fun for you, but I would like to ask you one thing because I don't want to be angry with the algorithm anymore and much prefer to be CHEERFUL.
So if you see and enjoy something from me on social media, and then really REALLY like it, just hit that LIKE button every now and then. A little effort for you and very valuable to me.
